Hey yall! Sorry I havent been able to update very well!! But heres a good one!!
So the flights and everything were great! We didn’t even sit in the Houston airport! We got wendys and starbucks and made it to our flight just in time!! Didn’t even run :] on the flight to Houston we meet a guy named Scott , he was pretty cool. And on the flight to G-city I met a girl named taylor that was with a mission called Operation Central America. They were going all around Guatemala and El Salvador for two weeks doing dramas and artsy stuff it was pretty cool! There was about 20 youth in there group! When we got to the Guatemala airport it was pretty interesting. Ugio met us with a sign saying COURTNEY ABBY Y ANNA A SEVILLA! Hahah we rode with him to Antigua for 45 minutes and he spoke absolutely nooo English. It was cool though!
When we got to the house Violeta met us at the door and showed us to our rooms ! we have keys and everything!! WE DO WHAT WE WANT!! Its awesome! Haha . We forgot she doesn’t cook on Sundays so we ate mac and cheese that we brought from the states . hhaha and we couldn’t get the microonda to work so we had to go to the store next door and ask if we could use theirs. You guessed it! He didn’t speak English either!! Its cool though, that’s why we’re here.
Sunday night after we went to bed I prayed over annas room. Didn’t really know why. But I guess I could feel fear coming from there. The next day I told anna and she was like cool. I wasn’t afraid and went right to sleep. And if you know anna that’s a pretty big deal cause this is the 18-year old that’s still afraid of the dark. Gods Cool!
So yesterday was our first day of class! It was great! We all LOVE our teachers ! Mine is named Zoila. She lives right outside of Antigua and rides the bus here everyday. She is Catholic. She listens to musica cristiana. And says that a relationship con dios es muy importante. Which is really cool. We talk about God a lot! Oh yeh, and we hold hands and say the blessing for every meal and we asked Violeta to join. She seemed confused the first few times but now she seems to like it. She says “Bien , Bien, Muy Bien.” When we say the blessing. She has Psalms 91 on the front door. I think she is catholic , but I haven’t had a chance to talk to her about it.
Hmm. What else do I need to say. Oh yeh, the roads are made of rocks and ive only tripped twice! :]
Oh yeh, so you think you’ve taken a cold shower? Think again! My legs HURT .. like PAINN because the water is so freezing and its cold outside. My legsss… HURRT. That’s all I have to say about that.
Oh, our food. We haven’t had a meal we liked so far. I liked the tacos we had last night they were like tacquitos but she said they were tacos. Abby wasn’t crazy bout um though. When we have dinner I kind of think about what Patricia and the others said about mexico, I eat everything I don’t like cause I don’t want to offend her. :\ its all good though! We’re having a great time and haven’t come into any trouble…yet :]
OH yeH!! And we’re buying cellphones!! They cost 12 dollars!! 12 DOLLARS! Seriously! How cool!
Ummm… cant think of much more that I can inform you of right now. We are about to go to la casa to eat lunch! Ill update sometime tomorrow!
