David He No Fear

so in our small group with the highlands we are studying "a man after God's own heart" .. David! ... I love David and doing this with highlands is going to be a lot of fun! We really liked how they started out the study and i think we're gonna learn a lot ! So the point of telling you this is because i want to tell you about how awesome childrens books are :) yesss, i actually checked 4 out of the library today! when i study on the 3rd floor of ralphs(the library) we usually are sitting near the childrens bible story books and one time we made the mistake of sitting next to them ..... no studying got done that night , but thats not the point lol. you really can learn a lot from those books! I think sometimes we think too much about stuff and try to analyze it so much that we miss the little things. Reading it from a childs viewpoint could actually help , we are suppose to have faith like a child so in a way i think we could learn from children in other ways too! I got this one book about David called "David He No Fear" ... the coolest book! It was written by a guy who was a teacher-missionary in Africa so he translated some stories in the bible to be something they could understand ... more like something an African Storyteller would share. How cool is that? These kids may have never heard this story, how cool is it that they get it translated into something they can actually understand!
So I want to share with you my favorite part :)

(when David was fighting Goliath)
The giant say
"Ho! Small boy done come
to say how-do."
David say,
"I come for fight!"
Giant say
"Do you
mommy know you out?"
David say
"Now I kill you"
.............
The sling leggo.
Hmmmmmm.............Bop.
The giant holler out
He hold him head
He turn
He try to walk
He fall
He roll
He twist about
He die.

haha oh and i think the funniest thing is that the last time this book was checked out was March 17 ............ 1993 !!! haha
